COMBATING THE SUNDAY SCARIES!
Don’t Let Your Monday Ruin your Sunday
Your Sunday Seven!
1.Research industry conferences or professional development opportunities
I’m writing this from sunny Orlando, Florida where I’m about to hang out with some of my favorite colleagues and peers who are attending the Professional Associated of Resume Writers and Career Coaches conference.
Spending time with people who do what you do is one of the best ways to grow your career, gain new knowledge, and step out of your own echo chamber for a few days.
2. Grow your communication skills with Rebecca Leppard
This week’s episode of No More Mondays Podcast is one you don’t want to miss, as I welcome Rebecca Leppard to the show. Rebecca’s career journey will inspire you to strive for more, as she defied the odds to grow up the corporate ladder at a very early age.
Now, she’s leveraging that experience to help women navigate male-dominated careers and level up professionally.
3. Drink some OJ
Florida may be the soupiest place on Earth (especially for this Colorado girl), but the orange juice is something to write home about.
Take a little inspiration from my travels, and pour yourself a glass of orange stuff. It’s rich in important nutrients, antioxidants, and even helps prevent kidney stones!
4. Celebrate Mother Earth
Yesterday was the 53rd anniversary of Earth Day!
Commemorate the day by learning about the real environmental problems we’re facing, reading good news about the progress we’re making in the fight against climate change, or watching documentaries about the Earth.
5. Splurge on a treat
I spent yesterday hanging out with my friend Stephanie Renk from Idaho Next Steps Coaching at Universal Studios Orlando where we acted like kids and immersed ourselves in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter!
We, of course, had an obligatory butter beer while we were there, and I can tell you it was as sugar, sweet, and delicious as you’d expect.
Go enjoy something delicious yourself!
6. Go down a YouTube rabbit hole
Do you love to watch ridiculous videos online?
Today’s your excuse – the first YouTube video ever was posted on this day in 2005.
